 HOME INSURANCE, BUILDINGS AND CONTENTS

We offer both buildings insurance and contents insurance. In addition to our standard cover, we can provide optional policy features which you can add to your policy for an additional cost. This way you can tailor the cover to suit your particular needs and budget. Some insurers provide High value “Blanket” sums insured to help reduce situations of under - insurance in the event of a claim.

Specific cover for your household contents
We can offer contents policies that are sufficiently flexible to take account of all the items that make up your household’s, furniture, fittings and contents and valuables. You can rest assured that we will secure the most appropriate cover so that, if the worst happens, starting again will be a little easier.

  VALUING YOUR CONTENTS

It’s all too easy to underestimate the real value of the fixtures and fittings and personal items that make up a home. Indeed, it’s believed that some people fall as much as 30% short when they assess the value of their possessions.

It is important to calculate the current value of your home’s contents, including some of your most valuable possessions. This information will not only be extremely useful if you have to make a claim, it can also come in handy when you next need to renew your insurance.

  CALCULATING BUILDINGS COVER

You can get an approximate idea of the minimum buildings cover you'll need by going to the Building Costs Information Service's BCIS Rebuilding Calculator, which provides a basic guide to rebuilding costs. Please remember that the rebuilding costs associated with high value and listed properties are usually much higher than those for other properties, due their special nature.
